Apple unveiled its long-awaited iPhone 15 and 15 Pro variants of its successful smartphone series on Tuesday, and there were no major surprises. Yes, confirming earlier rumors, Apple ditched its Lightning connector for the universally accepted USB-C connector, which will enable the company to meet EU requirements calling for a common interconnect port scheme for all smartphones.

Perhaps not surprisingly, Apple continues to upgrade the photographic capabilities on its iPhones to rival that of digital SLR cameras. Apple also continues to boost the performance of its own processors, particularly on its flagship Pro and Pro Max smartphones.
