Statistics Unit sales of major appliances grew slightly in Canada in 2008 compared to the previous year. | |
Full-size refrigerator sales were up 0.2%, washers were up 0.9%, and dryers were up 1.2%. Gas/electric ranges were down 0.5% and dishwashers were down 4.1%.
The Canadian Appliance Manufacturers Association (CAMA) reports large increases in the number of Energy Star appliances sold in 2008. Three major appliance categories saw increases of more than of 15%.
