A provider of microcontroller units (MCUs) launched 10 application-specific PICtail Plus daughter boards for its Explorer 16 development board platform. The Explorer 16 supports the firm’s 16-bit PIC24 MCUs and dsPIC33 digital signal controllers, and the 32-bit PIC32 MCUs, through numerous processor-specific plug-in modules. The PICtail Plus daughter cards can support graphics, Ethernet, USB, CAN/LIN, SD/MMC card interface, audio, IrDA, and motor control applications. Microchip Technology Inc.,
