Husqvarna launched the TB 1000 - the first battery-powered cultivator in the world – in January 2009 in the UK and elsewhere. It gives an operating time of 30-45 min, depending on ground conditions. The battery pack is removable to facilitate recharging. The battery driven unit is designed to provide the performance of a gas-driven unit in a zero-emissions product.

The unit is designed for easy modification for other tasks, such as switching out cultivating tines to the moss rake accessory.
