With its production line information systems (PLIS) and test systems, a Danish company has helped Brazilian appliance OEM Multibrás and commercial refrigerator maker Frigoglass significantly reduce failure rates, cut waste, and improve quality standards. “PLIS ensures traceability for every component, in every production facility around the world, enabling Frigoglass to achieve benchmark leadership in productivity, quality, and production flow,” says E. Trohatos of quality control and safety inspections at Frigoglass. The system consolidates critical data in all processes—from component manufacturing and preassembly to final test inspection and packing, giving managers one single view of their production line and assuring complete documentation. The PLIS Productivity module, based on the international OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) standard, provides insights into the causes of losses, equipment malfunctions, and production slowdowns to help cut waste, slash costs, and improve resource utilization and cycle times.
The company also offers test systems that are fully integrated with PLIS. One such product is CPT-XD, a computerized performance test system for domestic refrigeration applications with customers like Whirlpool and Carrier. It employs sensors with digital signal processor technology that compensate for distortion factors to ensure the most accurate measurements possible. The technology allows users to connect different sensors to a single CPT-XD box and switch between several test parameters. CPT-XD has a step-saving test sequencing option that makes it possible to conduct several tests simultaneously, start or stop individual tests independently, and conduct tests on mixed production lines. For power measurements, accuracy ratings are ±0.2%. CPT-XD sensors can be calibrated without interrupting production, which saves time and costs. Agramkow Fluid Systems A/S, www.agramkow.com
