Intertek conducts independent performance testing that gives products a competitive edge. Performance testing is a voluntary process that allows manufacturers to:
- Gauge how well their products stack up against the competition so that more competitive products can be developed.
- Make hard-hitting marketing claims such as “the world's quietest” or “most efficient.”
- Prove to retailers that their products are best in class.
Appliance manufacturers have used cutting-edge accelerated test methods such as failure mode verification testing (FMVT) to improve their products. FMVT exposes a product to a combined set of amplified stresses and produces multiple failure modes in as little as one day to quickly pinpoint how the product can be improved. Intertek has also developed a patented, six-axis vibration machine capable of producing repeatable failure modes in a wide range of electromechanical components, products, and systems.
