Human Touch (Long Beach, CA, U.S.) designed the HT-7450 Zero-Gravity massage chair with the Acupoint Detection System, which scans the length of the user’s back to create a map of key pressure points to target during the massage.

When the user is seated, the chair’s back, seat, and footrest synchronously recline to place the body in a position that reduces the physical strain exerted on the body by gravity. The massager rollers then scan the entire length of the back, locating acupressure points. It then delivers a massage that targets key pressure points of the sciatic nerve. Pulsating seat massagers pinpoint “problem areas.”

The chair was selected as an Innovations 2008 Design and Engineering Award honoree in the furniture product category by the Consumer Electronics Association.
