Manifolds were typically brazed by hand, but a new proprietary machine is able to automatically braze manifolds and headers, thus reducing labor and alloy costs as well as producing parts with consistent quality. The LB Linear Brazer automatically senses the size and position of each tube, locates the joint to be brazed, oscillates the torches around the joint for uniform heating, optically senses the correct brazing temperature, and feeds brazing alloy to the joint. The unit can have nitrogen purge and introduce Gasflux into the flames to reduce oxidation. The company also offers a full line of automatic and semiautomatic systems to braze distributors, evaporator and condenser coils, compressor shells, and other copper, brass, steel, and aluminum parts.
