A new application system preinstalls high volumes of constant-tension light band clamps (CTLs) onto hoses. The semiautomated machine features a feed bowl system that places a clamp in the jaws of a pneumatic hose clamp pliers, compresses the clamp in the open position, and allows the operator to place the hose in the desired position before closing the clamp. The pliers are activated and deactivated by proximity switches, reducing stress on the hand from repeated assembly. The pneumatic installation method therefore aids in the prevention of carpal tunnel syndrome. CTLs are said to be ideal for low-pressure applications. They are a cost-effective and reliable alternative to other types of band clamps. Rotor Clamp Inc.
