The Kuka KR 180 PA robot was designed especially for high-speed tasks with heavy payloads. The robot’s arm is made of carbon-fiber composite materials, which makes it light without sacrificing stiffness, and its FEM optimized kinematics have been adapted for palletizing. The unit is a four-axis robot with a 3200-mm reach, and is capable of handling up to a 180-kg payload. The Kuka KR 40 PA four-axis robot arm is also made of carbon-fiber composite materials, is capable of handling up to a 40-kg payload, and has a 2091-mm reach. The robot’s unique work envelope enables it to be used in high-speed conveyor-tracking material-handling applications as well as homogenous and mixed palletizing applications. Kuka Robotics Corp.
