Sanyo’s CE42LM4WPN is a 42-inch LCD monitor engineered for outdoor applications. The large-screen monitor carries an IP-56 rating, which indicates protection against dust, meaning no harmful deposits will form inside the monitor, and against liquids, meaning protection against low-pressure jets of water. The unit’s frame and cabinet are constructed from marine-grade anodized aluminum. A “no holes” ventilation system is designed to keep the monitor cool while protecting it from the elements. In addition, a tamper-resistant, anti-reflection cover glass makes the monitor suitable for use in well-trafficked public areas, as well as in almost any kind of unprotected outdoor area.
The CE42 is said to weigh less, run cooler and be more energy efficient than similar-sized plasma monitors. The unit features full WXGA resolution (1,366 by 768 pixels), 500 cd/m2 on-screen brightness, 178-degree V/H viewing angle, and an 800 to 1 contrast ratio, and comes equipped with a wide variety of AV, computer and HD-compatible input terminals. Like other display products from the company, the unit can be fitted with the PJ-Net Organizer (POA-LN01) so that it can be controlled over the internet. www.sanyo.com
