The world’s smallest “all-in-one-package” miniature low frequency oscillator is now available from the Micro Crystal. An Ultra-small size ceramic package combines the smallest 32,768 Hz timing crystal with a complete CMOS oscillator circuit. The OV-7604-C7 measures just 3.2x1.5x1.0 mm in a ceramic SMD. Its high stability and very low current consumption are ideal for today’s high-performance appliances. The OV-7604-C7 is fully RoHS Compliant and 100 percent lead-free.
The wide operating voltage, from 5.5 V down to 1.2 V, ensures reliable operation-even on low voltage. Maximum current is 0.5 µA at 3 V. As such, the unit draws up to 10 times less than other oscillators. The all-in-one design can also help to significantly reduce development time and, therefore, time-to-market. Prototyping through final design can all be streamlined.
Frequency tolerance is +/-20 ppm; tighter tolerance is optional. Operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C, with a storage range of -55°C to +125°C standard. Shock resistance is up to 5,000g. Production quantity delivered in 6 to 10 weeks. The units are priced at U.S. $1.65 each in 1,000 piece lots.
