ICD-Sales introduces Maxfarad™ super capacitors, with values up to 220 Farads at 2.3 V. These state-of-the-art energy storage devices open up new circuit design options for appliance designers. The new series is characterized by low ESR and long cycle life. Based on a double-layer capacitor (EDLC) design, these super capacitors offer 100 times higher energy storage than conventional electrolytic capacitors. Unlike batteries, these components are capable of hundreds of thousands of (charge/discharge) cycles, with peak power performance (maintains greater than 80 percent of initial performance after 100,000 times). They can be used in such applications as enhancement or protection of battery performance in portable appliances, solar energy storage, audio power supply boost, memory backup battery substitutes, and UPS (uninterruptible power supplies). Operating temperature: -25°C to 70°C. Custom modules are also available, containing banks of super capacitors to achieve the desired voltage and capacitance ratings.
