Screw Drive Systems

The Phillips Square-Drive System was developed to alleviate assembly problems said to be common as newer assemblies become more compact. In hard-to-reach areas, it is often difficult to get the screw started without cross threading or having the screw fall off of the driver before solid engagement is achieved. The drive system was developed to meet the need and to create a screw recess that can be serviced in the field. While the main driving force of the drive system bit is the square which provides more torsional strength than a standard Phillips® driver, the patented ACR® ribs help prevent the bit from camming out of the recess.
