Two reference designs from the company are said to detail a complete, front-end solution for digital television (DTV). The demodulator designs, developed by a subsidiary of the company’s Technology division, are said to lay the groundwork for integrating two DTV front-end Integrated Circuits (IC) products into digital TVs and set-top boxes. The complete front-end reference design can be used as a daughter card or can be integrated into a motherboard. The designs and ICs together enable a variety of DTV feature combinations, including digital and analog terrestrial; digital and analog cable; and digital, cable-ready applications. When purchased with a radio frequency tuner from the company’s Tuner Group, the company says OEMs will have an integrated, high-end performance and a cost-effective DTV solution. Thomson
