The MC9RS08KA family of 6-pin, 8-bit microcontrollers (MCUs) is designed for applications with extreme space and price constraints and is said to be ideal for traditional electro-mechanical designs and portable applications ranging from motor control to use-and-toss health care products. Features of the MCU include a 1.8 V to 5.5 V supply, an 8-bit modulo timer with an 8-bit prescalar, four bi-directional “input/output” lines, 3/5-channel keyboard interrupt, auto wakeup, and a background debugging system.
