Agilent Technologies Inc.’s Integrated Circuit Characterization and Analysis Program (IC-CAP) is a device-modeling program that provides powerful characterization and analysis capabilities for semiconductor modeling. The software is said to offer device engineers and circuit designers a state-of-the-art modeling software that performs numerous modeling needs, including instrument control, data acquisition, graphical analysis, simulation, optimization, and statistical analysis. According to the company, engineers are reporting extraction flow improvements of up to 50 percent when using the program’s modeling algorithms and data interface.
The company says it worked closely with major foundries in Taiwan and the U.S. to identify the most important, next-generation modeling requirements. It is said that the fast-paced semiconductor industry faces continuing challenges to maximize product performance and yield, decrease time-to-market and reduce production costs.
The modeling program contains both accurate models and advanced statistical analysis for building and maintaining up-to-date model libraries. According to the company, a customer can use the software to automate measurements, simulate device performance, extract data, optimize model parameters, perform advanced statistical analysis, and generate worst-case models within a single environment.
