Titanium is said to be readily marked with the LPQ Fiber Laser series, allowing for generation of alphanumeric characters, machine-readable codes, and other surface or engraved marks. The marks are created as the laser locally anneals the very top surface of the metal. Titanium darkens and exhibits various color changes at different levels of laser-induced surface heating. The FiberTower™ fiber laser marking system is said to be a safe, low-cost alternative to conventional Nd:YAG systems to successfully create high-speed, high-quality marks on any titanium product. Using the FiberScan graphical-based laser programming software, users can create marks such as graphics, logos, 2D matrices, barcodes, symbols, and text in any production environment.
