Ceramacast™ 675 is a fine-grain, aluminum nitride-filled, thermally conductive compound said to be ideal for potting high-temperature electrical components such as thermocouples and resistance temperature detectors. Material properties include a temperature resistance of 2,500°F (1,371°C), thermal conductivity on the order of 100 W/m-K, dielectric strength of 300 V/mil, volume resistivity of 1013 ohm-cm at room temperature, compressive strength of 2,000 psi, and good chemical and moisture resistance. The compound is supplied in powder form and is mixed in a ratio of 100 parts powder to 15-17 parts water by weight. The compound is said to be easily dispensed through pressurized dispensing equipment, sets in 16 hr at room temperature, and cures stepwise at 200°F and 250°F in 2 to 4 hr at each temperature. Cured material exhibits a porosity of less than 3 percent and low shrink rate of less than 0.3 percent at 1,000ºF. Aremco Products, Inc.
