The DC21 series power entry module is designed to save space and minimize time and cost during the assembly of electronic devices. The a.c. inlet, according to IEC/EN 60320-1/C14, and on/off switch functions are internally wired and connect to a printed circuit board with 3-pins (L, N & E). The low profile design is said to eliminate handling of wires that may risk damage or electro-static exposure to sensitive, integrated circuits. A rear cover insulates the module from other components. Connecting to a PCB is also said to minimize emissions resulting from the use of wire connections.
The rocker style switch is recessed to avoid accidental actuation. The modules are available in 1- or 2-poles with a lighted option to provide status indication. Typical applications of the module include industry sectors that manufacturer computers and peripherals, telecommunications and medical equipment, as well as test and measurement devices.
