According to the company, the Flash PIC® microcontrollers can provide a complete embedded-control solution. The controllers feature full-speed USB 2.0 connectivity and 48-MHz operation for 12-Mbps data transfer rates. The product features 24 or 32 kB of self-programmable enhanced Flash memory, which allows field upgrades for end applications via the USB port. The company says its PMOS Electrically Erasable Cell (PEEC) Flash technology provides high endurance of up to 100,000 erase/write cycles and data retention of more than 40 years. The full-speed USB 2.0 interface includes an onboard transceiver and a Parallel Streaming Port for direct data transfers to external peripherals with minimum CPU overhead. Common applications include MP3 players, manufacturing tools, data loggers, scanners, RFID readers, robot-controller interfaces, industrial timers, and gas-flow analyzers.
