At the AHR Expo, TRUMPF will show its 12-gauge slitting shear, the C 250-0 PLUS, designed for such tasks such as shearing coil line. As a result of a 500-W motor and new blade geometry design, the slitting shear has a working speed of 10 to 30 ft per min.
Able to make both straight and curved cuts, the C 250-0 PLUS is said to be flexible enough to handle a wide range of applications, including the cutting of spiral seam ducts, wire ducts, and C, U, and L profiles. The portable power tool can cut mild steel up to 12 gauge (0.118 in) and stainless up to 16 gauge (0.063 in).
According to the company, several features make the slitting shear more efficient and easier to use than older models. One of these features is the integrated chip clipper, which cuts the chip at any point during the cutting operation and can be operated using one hand. The device can be pulled out of the workpiece easily and accurately replaced again thanks to visible position markings on the cutter head.
