AeroLogic™ Air Duct Disinfection Systems are ultraviolet fixtures that utilize germicidal lamps to destroy airborne microbes, including bacteria and viruses, in new or existing forced-air duct systems.
Atlantic Ultraviolet Corporation (Hauppauge, NY, U.S.) says the units can be used to achieve the following bacteria kill rates:
• 80 percent for residential installation
• 90 percent for the average commercial installation
• 98 percent for hospitals and pharmaceutical laboratories
The units are constructed of corrosion-resistant 304 stainless steel to help assure long life.
The company also designed its germicidal ultraviolet technology into room air sanitizer configurations. Sanitaire™ Room Air Sanitizers are said to effectively destroy airborne microbes, including bacteria, mold, and viruses in enclosed spaces. The units are said to be safe for many applications because they use germicidal lamps that are enclosed in a stainless steel exposure chamber.
The Room Air Sanitizers can be ceiling- or wall-mounted. The company says they can be used to protect personnel and patients from infection due to airborne microbes, particularly in crowded or poorly ventilated areas and in areas where the risk of cross infection is high.
