Viking Announces New Convection Microwave

Appliance maker Viking Range Corporation has introduced a convection microwave to its lineup of Professional and Designer Series products.

The new convection microwave features four settings -- ConvecBroil, ConvecRoast, ConvecBake, and a manual convection setting option. The company says the Low Mix Bake and High Mix Roast settings use convection heat to seal, brown, and crisp the outside of foods while using microwave energy to ensure the inside is thoroughly cooked. The unit also features a child safety lock on the control panel to prevent unwanted use.

"The convection settings on the unit allow homeowners to expand the use of their microwave ovens to include baking, broiling, and roasting functions," said Dave Becker, Viking vice president of Culinary Products and Business Development.

In addition, Viking offers trim kits for built-in applications with matching widths to Viking electric and gas ovens, allowing users to stack the appliances in a wall installation.
