The company’s Multi-Sensor Platform can be customized for a variety of medical device applications by applying a sensitive layer on a thin gold surface. Sensitive layers consisting mostly of metals or metal oxides such as silicon, tin oxide, or gallium oxide convert the Multi-Sensor Platform to a gas sensor. This reportedly ensures that oxygen, carbon monoxide, nitro oxide, or methane are detected in the ppm range. Biological material can also be used as the sensitive layer. In this case, the platform is transformed into a bio-sensor, which measures the metabolism of induced ion currents in grown cell structures. The company says that valuable information for defeating various diseases may be obtained using this technique.
