The company┬╣s sheet metal joining system joins sheet metal of different or similar thickness and materials using a special punch and a die without any fasteners. The punch reportedly presses the sheet metal into the die cavity to form a mechanical interlock, using the parent materials, without generating any heat or fumes. The joining system can be used to form one joint per stroke or multiple joints in one stroke, depending on production requirements. The company┬╣s tools may be incorporated into a press or die set as required by the application. The system is said to replace riveting and spot-welding in many applications. In addition, the system is reportedly ideal for pre-painted or coated materials. The system does not require any electricity to form the joint and does not generate any heat. Therefore, it reportedly does not alter the coating or mechanical properties of the materials.
