The company has announced the expansion of its Sigma II Series a.c. servo product line in both 240 and 480 V a.c. for application requirements up to 15 kW. The product line is said to utilize semiconductor and power electronics for faster and more accurate motion control in front- and back-end fabrication processes. The company says there are 32 combinations of motors and amplifiers that range from 13.5 oz-in of rated torque to 1,550 in-lb of peak torque and motor speeds up to 6,000 rpm. The amplifiers were reportedly designed to minimize the use of control panel space while continuing to operate at rated torques in cabinet ambient temperatures up to 55°C without overloading. According to the company, the motor can be applied to various applications such as cleaning CVD, PVD, chip mounting, wafer handling robot, and automated test and assembly. The Sigma II Series a.c. servo drives feature high-response, velocity-loop bandwidth of 400 Hz, high-resolution serial encoder, and smooth operation at low speed. The main circuit and control circuit power supplies have been separated and are compliant with CE, UL, and cUL standards.
