The company’s line of EC-SYSTEM® fans and blowers are said to reduce operating costs by up to 60 percent when compared to standard a.c. motors in air-moving equipment. The technology applies electronic commutation to a range of 1/2- to 8-hp drives. The fans and blowers are 100-speed controllable and available for 155 to 277 V a.c. operations, enabling thousands of units to be networked via RS485 or other bus systems, according to the company. RFI filer, power factor correction, and electronic overload protection are also integrated into each system unit. Several motors or a complete air-handling system may reportedly be controlled with a single PC or laptop through use of new, advanced software. Commutation technique with integrated speed control improves efficiency, reduces power costs, and improves system performance in HVAC/R applications, according to the company.
