The company's new Dynatup 9250 instrumented impact testing machine tests impact properties of polymers, metals, composites, and full components. The machine reportedly offers complete computer control and impact velocities up to 22 m/sec for the most rigorous impact testing in quality control and research and development. The company says that unlike most testers, the entire impact event can be captured, plotted, and analyzed to determine important data such as the ductile-to-brittle transition point, ductility, incipient damage, max load, and absorbed energy. The machine uses ImpulseĀ®, a software and electronics package designed for impact testing. Instron
