Appliance maker Thermador introduced a new line of Professional Series appliances at the 2004 Kitchen & Bath Show (K/BIS) held in April, 2004 in Chicago.

"For more than 70 years, Thermador has empowered the cooking enthusiast with kitchen appliances that combine state-of-the-art functionality with sophisticated styling," said Franz J. Bosshard, Thermador president and CEO. "We have aggressively moved to create a strong yet refined full-line Thermador kitchen with the recent introduction of our whisper-quiet refrigeration and the new Professional Series line."

The new HD lineup is building upon the previous generation 4-cycle dishwashers. The new 10-cycle HD reportedly guarantees extremely clean results through a multitude of intelligent programs and options.

The new PowerBoost(TM) option is said to clean 12 place settings, while cutting the cycle time to 60 min. Sens-a-Dry(TM) recognizes if there is no rinse aid, adjusting cycle time and water temperature accordingly for excellent drying results. The HD operates at only 44 dB, reportedly making it among the quietest dishwashers manufactured in the U.S. For added performance, the PowerBeam(TM) alerts the user when the unit is on by shining a blue light to the kitchen floor. An advanced leak protection system also shuts the dishwasher off when it detects water in the base of the unit.
