JVC Company of America (Wayne, NJ, U.S.) has announced plans to market a subnotebook PC incorporating Intel(R) Centrino(TM) mobile technology, Microsoft(R) Windows XP Professional, and a built-in DVD-ROM and CD-R/RW drive. The new JVC MP-XV841 Mobile Mini Note PC goes on sale in the U.S. in June 2004. With battery, it weighs 3 lbs 4 oz and fits on a letter-sized sheet of paper.

The new JVC Mobile Mini Note PC reportedly plays back both DVD and CD formats. Its Intel(R) Centrino(TM) mobile technology provides Wi-Fi CERTIFIED(TM) wireless communication and extended 6.7-hr battery life.

Other MP-XV841 features include 256 MB of standard memory (expandable to 768 MB), a fast 2.5-in, 4,200 rpm 40GB hard disk drive and an 8.9-in Clear liquid crystal display (LCD) monitor.
