The company's new MP1014 Series Hall effect magnetic proximity sensors are said to provide solid-state sensing in a 3.3-mm high package, making them useful in space-limited applications. The sensors' low cost and virtually unlimited life also benefit applications such as flow sensing, cylinder position sensing, and door interlock sensing, according to the company. The MP1014 Series package dimensions are 17.3 mm in length by 21.8 mm in width by 3.3 mm in height. Standard termination is 12-in, 24 AWG PVC leads. Distance between the centerline of the mounting holes is 16.5 mm. The sensors provide a three-wire sinking output, operate with standard supply voltages of 4.75 V d.c. to 24 V d.c., and have reverse-battery protection to –15 V d.c. Standard operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C, and the housing and encapsulating materials carry UL94 V-0 ratings. Both latching and switching versions are available. Latching versions have a typical operate point of 71 gauss (South Pole) and a typical release point of 71 gauss (North Pole). Switching versions have a typical operate point of 166 gauss (South Pole) and a typical release point of 148 gauss (South Pole).
