Permanent Magnet Linear Displacement (PLCD) sensors have been added to the company's line of passive electronics. According to the company, the sensors use the electromagnetic induction principle with a primary winding around a soft magnetic core and a secondary winding at either end. The sensors have a measurement range of 15 to 400 mm, a sensor magnet gap range of 1 to 20 mm, and an environmental sealing rating of IP67, with higher ratings available on request. Applications include drives, automation systems, conveyors, and rotary actuators. The company reports that a standard signal processing ASIC can be integrated with the sensor for a.c. voltage supply, internal signal processing, and d.c.-out signal.
