The company's new surface-mount switchable jumper switch was created as an alternative to shunts and jumpers. With 0.050-in centers, the ERG SMJS switch is especially designed for surface mounting using automatic pick-and-place equipment and reflow soldering ovens. It can be configured as SPDT or DPDT and is said to be well suited for data programming, digital address settings, signal and data line switching, disk drives, and security devices. It features a custom or ganged top half that reportedly allows for most pick-and-place equipment to easily remove the switch for processing, gold over nickel-plated beryllium copper contacts, four-point wiping contact design, positive detent action for shock resistance, and deep "V" slots to securely locate any operation probe.
