Electra HK Technologies Ltd., a maker of microprocessor-based electronic controller systems for the appliance market, recently released a new version of its Air Ionizer. The patented Ionizer, now available in an extra slim form factor at 100 x 10.5 x 16.5 mm, is said to be free from the black-wall effect, is almost ozone-free, and satisfies UL867 requirements. At 12 V d.c., the company's Air Ionizer can reportedly generate 1.25 x 1010 negative ions per sec.
The product comes in two models, one with a "cool blue" light-emitting diode (LED), and one without an LED. The Ionizer is currently being used in air-conditioner duct systems to help improve indoor air-quality in commercial buildings. Based on this compact product, the company is also planning to launch it as a portable end product, the Handy Ionizer, for the personal health care market. The Handy Ionizer has dimensions of 120 x 55 x 20 mm. It can be powered by a computer universal serial bus (USB) port or by using four AAA batteries. The ultra-slim model can be worn around the neck or can be positioned upright on a table or desktop, using an attached stand. The company, located in Dongguan City, China, is implementing a demand flow technology (DFT) system to allow high delivery flexibility to its customers.
