Spain's Cata Plans Plant in India

Spain's Cata Electrodomesticos, S.L, intends to establish a manufacturing base in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, India, according to Sify Business. Construction starts in June and the plant is scheduled to start production in March 2007. Cata is also reported to be buying out Ultra Pure Technologies and Appliances, the New Delhi-based OEM that was Cata's Indian joint venture partner.

Cata, headquartered in Barcelona, Spain, makes decorative range hoods and air extraction fans. The company has manufacturing in Torello, Spain, the town where it was established in 1947. In 2004, the company also opened factories in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Xiao Lan, China.
