Forty U.S. Marines returning from combat deployment in Western Iraq received "welcome home” kitchenware care packages courtesy of The Northeast Group, a New England manufacturers’ representative agency, and a variety of housewares companies. The Northeast Group organized and shipped the surprise packages, which contained products donated by Capresso, Krups, Mundial, OXO, Snow River, William Bounds, Wilton, and others.

David Friedman, co-owner of The Northeast Group, initiated this project when he learned that Corporal Paul Bang-Knudsen was wounded while on patrol with the 1st Force Reconnaissance Company in an operation in Western Iraq. Corporal Bang-Knudsen is the son of Pacific Northwest manufacturers’ representative agency owners. Friedman organized the gifts to express his admiration and appreciation to the Marines in Corporal Bang-Knudsen’s unit.
