Malaysian appliance company Pensonic Holdings Bhd. will begin marketing high-end appliances from GE in early 2006, according to a report from Malaysia's The Star. An agreement signed in October makes Pensonic the exclusive Malaysian distributor of products from Louisville, Kentucky, U.S. appliance maker GE.

The Star quotes Pensonic Group managing director Dixon Chew, who said the company will market the GE wine vault and about 25 other GE refrigerator, washer and dryer models.

Pensonic, which now markets its own products in Southeast Asia, China and the Middle East, is also exploring market potential in Latin America, the report said. The company is also looking at acquiring brands with good distribution infrastructure in various global markets. Chew said the new Pensonic plant in Bukit Minyak began full operation in November.
