The Economic Daily reports that retail giant Wal-Mart Stores Inc. plans to open 13 stores in China in 2006, including one or two Sam's Clubs stores.
Wal-Mart reports that, as of September 2005, it has 44 Wal-Mart Supercenters stores in China, along with 3 Sam's Clubs stores and 2 Neighborhood Markets. It entered the Chinese market in 1996 when it opened its first Supercenter and Sam's Club in Shenzhen.
