In a further move to meet the exacting needs of the home theater and commercial HDTV markets, Brillian Corporation announced that its 720p and 1080p Gen II liquid-crystal-on-silicon (LCoS(TM)) HDTVs have been certified by Crestron Electronics, a manufacturer of advanced control and automation systems.

Crestron provides fully integrated audio/video, security, lighting, HVAC, and other products to corporate boardrooms, conference rooms, classrooms, auditoriums, and homes. The Brillian 720p and 1080p HDTVs are the first LCOS rear-projection HDTVs to be certified by Crestron.

As part of the Crestron Integrated Partner Program, a Brillian-specific Integrated Partner module is now available to Crestron dealers for download at It enables dealers to easily integrate Brillian's rear-projection HDTVs into home and professional environments, taking advantage of a drag-and-drop interface to control the HDTVs' on-screen menu items, including input type, volume, brightness, extensive aspect ratio, and screen layout options.

"Crestron has earned its leadership position in the market by being at the forefront of incorporating controls for the hottest technologies for home theater and commercial applications," said Crestron's Chris Wildfoerster, director of Market Development. "The Brillian HDTV, with its recent awards from PC Magazine, AVS Forum/AccuCal and Forbes/Displaymate, continues that trend for us and ensures that we support the best of the best for our dealers and end-user customers."
