Employees from Heatcraft Refrigeration Products's Tifton, Georgia, U.S. facility helped expedite manufacture of 50 1-6 HP condensing units for the rebuilding of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, U.S. businesses hit by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

An 85-person volunteer crew worked a weekend to assemble the 50 units, which were shipped to Baker Distributing in Baton Rouge. The production process, which would normally have taken 7 to 9 days, was accomplished in under 48 hours.

The equipment will be used in to restore area business.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the communities and businesses affected by this disaster," stated Steve Dyer, director of operations for the Tifton plant. "We know there is a long, slow recovery ahead, but this is one way that Heatcraft Refrigeration Products can support the rebuilding process and help get businesses back on their feet."
