Sony Maps Out Reorganization Sep 22, 2005 |

Sony Corporation Network Companies (Tokyo, Japan) this morning laid out the map of its new corporate structure. The changes will be official on October 1, 2005. See today's accompanying news item, Sony Unveils New Corporate Strategy.
The current Sony Corporation Network Companies will be reorganized into five Business Groups, two Units and one Division. Concurrent to this reorganization, two Development Groups will be newly established.
Personnel changes are extensive and include these appointments, also effective October 1, 2005:
Katsumi Ihara, executive deputy president, representative corporate executive officer
Currently: NC president of Home Electronics Network Company (HENC)
Scheduled to be appointed: president of TV Business Group
Kiyoshi Nishitani, senior vice president, corporate executive
Currently: deputy president of HENC
Scheduled to be appointed: president of Video Business Group
Yutaka Nakagawa, executive vice president, corporate executive officer
Currently: NC president of Personal Audio Visual Network Company (PAVNC)
Scheduled to be appointed: president of Digital Imaging Business Group/president of Audio Business Group
Yoshihisa Ishida
Currently: senior general manager of VAIO Business Division, Information Technology & Communications Network Company (ITCNC)
Scheduled to be appointed: senior general manager of VAIO Business Division
Mitsuru Ohki, executive vice president, corporate executive
Currently: NC president of Professional Solutions Network Company (PSNC)
Scheduled to be appointed: president of B&P Business Group
Akira Kubota, executive vice president, corporate executive
Currently: NC president of Micro Systems Network Company (MSNC)
Scheduled to be appointed: president of Core Component Business Unit
Kenshi Manabe, executive vice president, corporate executive
Currently: NC president of Semiconductor Solutions Network Company (SSNC)
Scheduled to be appointed: president of Semiconductor Business Unit
Keiji Kimura, executive vice president, corporate executive officer
Currently: NC president of ITCNC
Scheduled to be appointed: president of Technology Development Group; concurrently in charge of technology strategies
Ryoji Chubachi, president and electronics CEO, representative corporate, executive officer
Scheduled to be appointed: president of Display Device Development Group
