Sharp Electronics Corporation announced that Michael Troetti has been named president of Sharp Electronics Marketing Company of America (SEMCA), effective Sept. 21, 2005.

Troetti will replace Noboru Fujimoto who will assume the responsibility of Group Deputy General Manager of the Solar Systems Group, where he will be in charge of domestic and international sales in Japan.

As president, Troetti will oversee the two groups that fall under SEMCA, including the Consumer Electronics Group (Strategic Accounts, Audio/Video, Appliances and Marketing) and Information Systems Group (Professional LCD Monitors and Data Projectors, Point-of-Sale, Home Office and Mobile Products).

"Sharp is a leader in the consumer electronics industry, but we also maintain an extremely strong presence on the business side, in a wide variety of areas such as professional LCD monitors, projectors and point-of-sale systems," said Troetti. "I am looking forward to leveraging my experience in commercial and consumer products to build Sharp's market share in these exciting business sectors. Sharp's investment in its core technologies combined with our commitment to innovation across every product group is the strength of this company and what elevates the brand within the marketplace and to customers."
