Haier Builds R&D Centers and A/C Plant Aug 19, 2005 |

Bloomberg reports that Chinese appliance maker Qingdao Haier Co., will spend about 160 million yuan (U.S. $19.8 million) to establish R&D centers in Europe and the U.S.
Another 150 million yuan (U.S. $18.5 million) will be spent by Haier to build an air-conditioner plant in Chongqing, a city in southwest China.
