Xiamen Overseas Chinese Electronic Co., Ltd. (Xoceco), a TV maker listed on Shanghai Stock Exchange, has signed an agreement with LG.Philips.LCD, one of two major suppliers of liquid crystal display (LCD) in the world, to establish a strategic cooperative partnership and jointly tackle international flat-panel TV markets.

This is another international cooperation effort of the Xoceco, following the launch of a combined laboratory with chip magnate Pixelworks last year and dialogue with Samsung in June this year.

Such cooperation indicates that the Chinese company is getting a louder voice in industrial chains of the flat-panel TV market.

Xoceco is currently the biggest client of LG.Philips.LCD in China. Besides their partnership, the companies also agreed to regularly communicate with each other, and LG.Philips.LCD promised that it would spare no effort to support Xoceco in fields such as resources supply. (XIC)
