Samsung recently organized a free service camp for consumers to get their air-conditioners thoroughly checked before the onset of summer when temperatures rise dramatically in the region.

"Three years ago Samsung conducted a comprehensive study of the Middle East air-conditioners market and observed that none of the available products were capable of dealing with the region's extreme heat," said Keun Sang Yoo, director of the Home Appliance division of Samsung Gulf Electronics. "The result of the free checkup was extremely positive and encouraging. We registered an unexpected low breakdown rate of 0.5 percent, which is almost 1/10th of the industry's average." (AME Info)
