PT LG Electronics Indonesia said it will start producing plasma television sets by the end of this month.

A new production line will be opened with a production capacity of 25,000 units of plasma television a year, its President Kee Ju Lee said.

The company is expected to sell 150 units of plasma television sets in Indonesia annually, Mr. Lee said.

He said his company invested U.S. $1 million to build the assembling plant, which produces 42- and 50-in plasma televisions in Tangerang, Banten.

He said the market for plasma television is growing fast in the country.

The company also has production lines for refrigerators, TV LCD, and TV projectors. (ANTARA)
