Guangdong Province Tops China's Retail Sales Growth in 2004 Apr 20, 2005 |

The retail sales of consumer goods in south China's Guangdong Province came out top in the country with 637 billion yuan (approx. U.S. $77 billion) in 2004, up 13.6 percent over 2003, according to an Annual Meeting of the Guangdong Chains Operation Association.
The amount accounted for 11.8 percent of the country's total 5.395 trillion yuan, or 39.7 percent of the province's GDP. (XIC)
