Samsung to Export Refrigerators from India

Samsung India announced that the company is set to export Indian-made refrigerators. This is the second product category in Samsung's consumer electronics and home appliances portfolio that would be exported from India in addition to color televisions.

"The 'Made in India' refrigerators would be exported to Africa, West Asia, and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and initially we plan to export 50,000 frost-free refrigerators in various capacities ranging from 180 to 380 L this year," Ravinder Zutshi, the company's director of Sales and Marketing, said.

"The company also plans to export refrigerators to South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries in the near future as well," Mr. Zutshi said, adding that the company also plans to export 100,000 color televisions from its facility in Nodia, India this year. (Rediff.com)
