Five Electrolux products have been recognized for their excellence in product design at the 50th edition of the red dot design award competition. More than 4,000 entries from 40 countries compete for the red dot, an international seal of quality for outstanding design.

"The awards confirm the success of integrating dynamic design elements with consumer needs," Henrik Otto, senior vice president of Global Design at Electrolux, said in a statement. "The aspiration to meet consumer needs, continues to drive how we develop household appliances and a recognition of this caliber confirms that we are on the right path."

A panel of internationally respected design experts judges the red dot awards. The selection criteria include, among others, the degree of innovation, practicality, quality, symbolic, and emotional content, as well as ergonomics and ecological compatibility.

The award winners included the following Electrolux products:

  • Favorit dishwasher
  • CaFamosa espresso machine (pictured)
  • Wine Keeper
  • Oxy3system vacuum cleaner
  • Ergorapido 2-in-1 instant vacuum cleaner
